Author
Cheryl Block, wrote an children's educational book on
spiders. One of the primary parameters given was to
create anatomically correct but also friendly spiders.
GTD
created a spider characterization, which followed the
author's suggestion, that the spiders needed a friendly
face. This, coupled with a style of spider "body
language" which would be identifiable by children
as approachable, to express the flow of the story and
learning.
Also
the anthropomorphic thinking and emotions of the spiders
were key elements in creating each illustration. This
was essential in communicating the author's intent and
information. |
