During
the development of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, GTD created
a content plan, using interspersed drawings to describe
what the visitors will see.
The
plan is based on habitats. From the intertidal, the
wharf and the slough, to the kelp forest and sandy bottom,
this plan was created as a "visual content map"
for visitors. The art was drawn to flow one habitat
into another. Different perspectives were woven together,
to add visual interest, unexpected junctions of fish,
animals and plant life.
Each
habitat was labeled, and light and shadows were integrated
to create an artistic impression of Monterey Bay.
