Cheryl Block commissioned GTD to create a logo for Block
Publishing, which specializes in children's educational
books and materials.
The
author established several parameters for the conceptual
framework. The creative elements which best fulfilled
the framework were the classic children's alphabet block
with a "B," a boy and a girl sitting on it,
back to back, reading.
The
optimal version had the block sized larger than the
children, to emphasize the company, its mission and
products, and how it promotes a foundation of strong
values and learning for all. Artistically, a silhouette
logo made it graphically simple and strong.
